A GOOD VICTORIAN SCOTTISH BASKET HILTED OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD FOR THE BLACK WATCH,
late 1850s, with 32in. double-edged steel blade with two narrow fullers on each side, deeply etched on both sides with scroll-work, the Royal cypher to one side and the Black Watch regimental crest over, ricasso with proved plug to one side and 'HENRY / WILKINSON / PALL MALL / LONDON' over and numbered '6031' on the edge, polished steel hilt pierced with hearts, wire-bound leather grip, red felt liner with blue edging, red tassel under pommel, together with its black leather scabbard with two suspension rings, finely engraved steel furniture, some staining to the hilt, 41in. overall
